Your new best friend is closer than you think!

Welcome to Cougar Pets! We are a local animal rescue group housed on the Central Carolina Community College campus. As part of the Veterinary Medical Technology program, our animals help teach veterinary technician students essential skills that will help future animals.

Please note that since we are regulated by the USDA, we are unable to accept owner surrenders from the general public. We are required to obtain our animals from a shelter.

All of our animals are rescued from shelters, and all are adoptable. In addition, they are up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered, and micro-chipped. Click on the cat or dog below to get started!

***Rats and rabbits are available for adoption in the month of June. Message us for more details.***

Cougar Pet Spotlight

Come, Sit, Stay!

My name is Elliot and August 1st is my birthday! I am a sweet boy with lots of energy. I am always excited to go outside and play with my toys. I am very smart and enjoy learning new tricks. I can be nervous around new people but once I warm up to you, I enjoy lots of good scratches. Ask about me today!

Do you see a pet you like, but want to meet them first? Make an appointment with our staff and we will set up a Meet and Greet session!

Meet and Greet sessions are by appointment only.

Hi! My name is Katydid. If you are looking for a girl that likes to go-go-go, then look no further! Anytime is playtime with the right partner in crime. If you want to scratch my noggin, then I think I can make time for that as well. I cannot wait to see what we conjure up in my new home!

Success! Message received. We will get back with you shortly!

NOTE: As a USDA regulated facility, we are closed to the general public and non-colony animals. Meet and Greet sessions are by appointment only! While we love all animals, we request that only people attend Meet and Greet sessions.
